Monthly catch up!

heres some renders from stuff Ive been doing this month, not been posting as Dissertation is more important at the moment!

Although the character design of elbandito was with a cartoony beard, i thought I would have a digg into the fur creator in maya. If you plan on using fur, its advisable to duplicate the planes you want fur on, and place these duplicate planes on another layer, then parent it to the original object, and apply the fur to this. This means you can turn the fur's/beard's visibility on and off which will help for animating, and also for rendering.

As I was modelling the face Matt was saying it needed to be more like the Star Wars Clone Wars design, and after a short look though the artwork, I decided that this meant harder edges on the facial features, ie, the end of the nose, where the eyebrows meet the nose, grooves in the beard, basically a generally more 'stylised' style.

The bandit has a jiggle deformer on his belly and chest, also the blue shirt is nCloth which has been constrained to his wrists and waist. Ill post some test vids soon , looks quite nice.
